Handmade handfasting cords – made to order, with love woven in

About Us

About Us

Intertwined Handfasting Cords was created by Tasha the Celebrant (Tasha Monaghan Leung), a Wedding Celebrant at the Fulcrum Foundation. She conducts bespoke ceremonies in Scotland, bringing couples together in meaningful and personalised way.

The Handfasting Ceremony is among her favourite symbolic gestures, and she hand weaves all our cords with love and positive energy.

What we make

Every Intertwined handfasting cord is made to order by hand, weaving strands of soft satin ribbon together so the colours spiral along the length of the cord. Each cord is approximately 1.5cm wide and 1.5m long – a length that suits all of the popular tying methods – and longer or shorter cords can be made on request. Cords can be finished with or without charms, and the charm shown on any design can be swapped for another from our selection.

Because each cord is made individually, processing takes around 3–7 working days from purchase, plus delivery time. Your cord arrives in an organza bag to keep it safe until the big day.

Our handfasting cord collection

Our curated designs are each inspired by something meaningful – a landscape, a flower, a feeling or a heritage:

If none of these feels quite right, our custom order handfasting cord lets you choose your own ribbon colours and charms to match your wedding.

Why handfasting?

As a wedding celebrant, Tasha has seen how a handfasting can become one of the most memorable moments of a ceremony: a quiet, tactile pause where two people are literally tied together, surrounded by the people they love.
